Cool Hand Luke
While watching cool hand Luke you realized how much of a determined man he was. He thought for himself but also acted for himself. He would not let any man get in his way. He changes the atmosphere of the ward. He knew when to give a good time. The men were a lot livelier when he was there. He never turned away from a challenge. When he ate all those eggs he could have just given up but he had faith in himself and some of the other did to. He always took the opportunity to work really hard so that they got their job done faster and they could relax a longer time. He was smart in a way and knew a since of timing. All of the time Luke ran ways he ran as hard and as far as he could. A couple times I thought he would have had it to freedom but always found himself back there. He was a smart man that used that to his advantage and in the end making the head guy so mad and threaten by him he killed him. I wish the movie did not end that way. But you can’t always have a happy ending.

I think it is important for Luke to die at the end. Luke's death at the hands of the authority signifies a victory for all the men in the prison. If Luke had not been killed at the end, the story would have continued exactly as it had been going. Luke would defy the authority and the authority would punish him. The cycle had to be broken and I think that Luke's death at the end says it all. Every one learns from Luke's actions and the prison will never be the same. The authority shows a weakness by killing Luke, showing that the only way for them to stop him is to kill him.
